Barcelona Zoo

We spent the second half of the day in the Barcelona Zoo. The Zoo is rather small and is located not far from the Barceloneta district. The main reason for our decision to visit the Zoo was a dolphin show. It is held every day at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. However I advise you to check it on the Zoo website because the show time depends on the season.

We were much impressed by the dolphin show that lasted over 30 minutes. It was carefully planned and arranged with dolphins showing various tricks of all levels of complexity. The animal trainers tried to invite the audience to interact with the dolphins though many of them didn’t speak Spanish.

Apart from dolphins you can see fur seals, penguins, monkeys, lions and many other kinds of animals there.

The Barcelona Zoo is not very large but that’s not a disadvantage. The visit was rather interesting even for us adults. If you travel with kids visit of the Zoo should become one of the necessary destinations of your Barcelona tour program.
