Sagrada Familia

From the Park Guell we went to Sagrada Familia which is considered to be the most popular tourist attraction of Barcelona and one of the most well-known Gaudi’s masterpieces.

Sagrada Familia is a new giant church that has been under construction since 1882 and it’s expected to be completed in 2026.

The church has two faces. On the one hand, it’s Gaudi’s easily recognizable style with thousands of fanciful forms. On the other hand, it’s more modern style of Gaudi’s followers noted for less fanciful and more severe and straight lines.

After Sagrada Familia the bus carried us to a short sightseeing tour over the old town of Barcelona but that’s another story for another time.

It’s also very interesting to visit Sagrada Familia in the evening. Night illumination makes the place beautiful and fantastic.

In the evening we went out for a walk along Passeig de Gracia which to my mind is the most beautiful street inBarcelona. It’s a street with unique atmosphere, numerous restaurants, stores and Barcelona’s shopping area.

With Casa Batllo and Casa Mila, and with the spirit of Europein the air.
