Christmas Markets in Stockholm
Stortorgets Julmarknad
Dates: November 22 to December 23, 2026.
Stockholm’s best-known Christmas market takes over Stortorget Square in the Old Town. Red wooden stalls stand among colorful historic buildings, selling ceramics, candles, Christmas decorations and Swedish sweets. The market has been running since 1837.

Dates: November 27 to December 20, 2026, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
At Skansen Open-Air Museum, Christmas is celebrated according to old Swedish traditions. The market sells handmade crafts and home-baked treats, while the historic houses show how people prepared for Christmas in different periods. There are also workshops and festive games for children.
Hovstallet
Dates: December 4–6, 2026.
The Royal Stables at Väpnargatan 1 host a Christmas market for a few days in December. Surrounded by historic carriages and horse equipment, craftspeople sell jewelry, leather goods, glassware, wooden items and textiles.
Kungsträdgården
Date: November 28, 2026.
This one-day market in central Kungsträdgården Park focuses on young entrepreneurs. Students showcase products from their own small businesses, including accessories, jewelry, clothing, sweets and unusual gifts. The selection is quite different from what you’ll find at traditional Christmas markets.
Christmas Markets in Gothenburg and Southwest Sweden
Liseberg, Gothenburg
Dates: November 14 to December 30, 2026, on selected days.
Liseberg Amusement Park turns into a huge Christmas village. There are millions of lights, market stalls, an ice rink, seasonal rides and Santa’s village. You can shop for gifts and spend an entire evening enjoying the festive decorations.
Tjolöholm Castle, Halland
Dates: November 20–22, November 27–29 and December 4–6, 2026.
The market takes place at Tjolöholm Castle, beside a fjord near Kungsbacka. The historic rooms are decorated for Christmas, while stalls selling handmade crafts and local products fill the estate grounds. The program also includes concerts and family activities.

Dates: November 26 to December 20, 2026, Thursday to Sunday.
During Advent, one of Malmö’s main squares fills with festive market stalls. Local craftspeople bring decorations, textiles, souvenirs and seasonal treats. The vendors change from week to week, so there’s always something new to discover.
Christmas Markets in Castles and Small Towns
Bosjökloster Castle, Skåne
Dates: November 27–29, 2026.
Around 80 craftspeople and local food producers gather at this former medieval monastery near Höör. Stalls are set up inside the castle, old stables and vaulted cellars. Visitors can also enjoy concerts in the church, horse-drawn carriage rides and activities for children.
Kalmar Castle, Kalmar
Dates: November 26–29, 2026.
At Kalmar Castle, the Christmas market spreads through historic halls and courtyards. Stalls sell Swedish design products, handmade crafts, festive decorations and food gifts. You can also explore the Renaissance castle itself, one of the most famous in Sweden.

More than a hundred craftspeople from across Sweden come to Taxinge Castle for its Christmas market. Besides the festive stalls, visitors are drawn to the castle café, known for its huge selection of cakes, pastries and cookies. The estate sits on the shores of Lake Mälaren.
Skokloster Castle, near Uppsala
Dates: November 28–29, 2026.
A small Christmas market takes place in the courtyard of this 17th-century Baroque castle. Local producers sell handmade crafts, wreaths, decorations and festive food. Guided tours of the castle’s historic rooms are also available during the market.
Gamla Linköping, Linköping
Dates: November 28–29 and December 5–6, 2026.
In the historic district of Gamla Linköping, market stalls line the cobbled streets between old wooden houses. Craft shops are open, music fills the streets, and children can meet Santa Claus. The district itself is an open-air museum showing what life was like in a Swedish town in the past.

One of Northern Europe’s largest Christmas markets takes place at a former ironworks. Around 130 stalls are set up in barns, workshops and old farm buildings. Visitors can watch traditional sweets being made, buy local food and explore the historic estate.

Jamtli, Östersund
Dates: December 4–6, 2026.
Nearly 200 vendors gather at Jamtli Museum, selling handmade crafts and regional specialties. Visitors can enjoy sleigh rides, festive activities and a chance to learn about the traditions of the Jämtland region. There’s also a Santa’s house for children.
