Kos, Greece

Our vacation on Kos Island was spontaneous and quite short but it turned out to be wonderful and unforgettable. Kos gave us plenty of positive emotions, unforgettable impressions and plenty of exciting memories.

Frankly speaking we had lots of doubts until the very last moment before we booked the flight and hotel. We read a few articles about Kos on the Internet which informed that there was nothing to do there and that it was a very small, dull and nearly deserted island.

But what we saw on Kos surpassed all our wildest expectations.

We saw a beautiful and spectacularly exciting island with wonderful atmosphere. We felt that atmosphere everywhere: in people, in sunsets and sunrises, in unhurried evening and night walks along the quay in Kos Town, in bars and taverns, and even in the hotel.

Our hotel on Kos Island is another story for another time and I’m going to devote a separate article or more to it. The hotel turned out to be great and added a lot to the impressions of the whole trip. Besides, we were much impressed by the view of the Aegean Sea and by days and nights spent next to the swimming pool.

As for the island itself it impressed us by a large number of archaeological excavations and tourist attractions. Probably you have read about The Plane Tree of Hippocrates and Asklepion. But believe me, these are not the only attractions of the Kos Island. I will try to tell you about these attractions on this website pages.

The attractions mentioned above including the archaeological excavations are not the only attractions on the island. The attractions include villages with wonderful atmosphere and unique hot water springs known as Thermes, and of course beaches.

Despite immense respect for history and historic sites most of the tourists come to Kos Island in order to relax by the sea. Never lacking in sea and sun is what can easily be said about Kos Island. There are beaches for all tastes including pebble beaches, wild beaches with dunes, exotic beaches with crystal clear water and cleanest white sand.

If you come to Kos Island for more than 5-6 days you can find the largest number of offers to visit the neighboring sites such as the volcanic island of Nisyros, small Greek Islands and Turkish Bodrum. Besides, you will be offered to take a day or night boat tour around Kos Island.

Kos is regarded as a paradise for bikers and the island offers the widest choice of bicycles, motor-bicycles and four-wheelers to hire.

We spent an unforgettable vacation on Kos Island. I hope my website can make your own vacation unforgettable too.

So let’s start with Kos Town.
