Planning Your Visit

Plan to spend at least three to four hours exploring the gardens and the museum. This will allow you to fully enjoy the various themed areas and exhibits without feeling rushed.

The gardens are open from late March to mid-November. Each season has its unique charm, but spring and early summer are particularly beautiful.

Getting There

  • By Car: There is a large parking area opposite the castle.
  • By Public Transport: Bus number 4 from Merano city center stops near the castle. Please note that bus tickets should be purchased in advance as they are not sold on the bus.
  • Sissi Path: For a scenic route, take the Sissi Path, a 45-minute walk from Merano’s center to the castle.

The castle’s restaurant offers a delectable lunch menu, while the Palm Café is perfect for a relaxing afternoon coffee and ice cream.
