My name is Lucas Moretti. I arrived in Spain in 2009, deciding to take a spontaneous journey after university. I planned to stay for a month but fell in love with this country forever. I was captivated by Spain's incredible diversity: from the snow-capped Sierra Nevada mountains to the golden beaches of Costa del Sol. I was also amazed by the cultural mosaic – the Moorish influence in Andalusia, the Celtic traditions of Galicia, and the unique Catalonia. Over 15 years, I've walked the Camino de Santiago eight times and explored all 17 autonomous communities of the country. I've created more than 200 unique routes, many passing through places hidden from mass tourism. I speak four languages (Italian, Spanish, Catalan, and English) and continue to discover new places. I'm convinced that the real Spain is found not only in famous tourist centers but also in small villages and on remote mountain paths.
Barcelona Hotels
Like any big tourist city Barcelona has plenty of hotels to offer its visitors. You can choose both a small hostel in suburbs and a deluxe hotel close to the main impressive and beautiful tourist attractions.
There are a few peculiarities regarding Barcelona that you should take into consideration when choosing accommodation.
First of all you should consider the location. Metro is the cheapest and the most convenient way to travel in Barcelona. Barcelona metro is well developed and it will take you only 20-30 minutes to get from one side of the city to another and to the main tourist attractions as well.

There is no place in Barcelona like for example Termini in Rome. However you should take into account that you can often meet prostitutes’ and other services in La Rambla side streets and some places of the Gothic Quarter. In general Barcelona is quite safe for tourists with the exception of pickpockets. So the first thing you should take into account when planning your trip is visitors’ feedback.

As for us we stayed at theCatalonia La Pedrera hotel. I can say that we were quite satisfied with it. We made reservation through booking.com and the rate was quite low for a 4 star hotel. The hotel is located five minutes from metro station and five minutes from Diagonal and Gracia Streets that contain a lot of tourist attractions. In the evening you can enjoy a pleasant walk along these streets as the district is rather clean and safe.
The hotel itself is very clean. It offers nice rooms and corridors, friendly staff and quite good meal except the last day.
