Don’t plan to swim in the Persian Gulf in summer – from May to September, the water warms up to 32–34 °C with humidity reaching 90%. Instead of refreshing, it feels like a warm bath. The best beach season is October–April.
Go on desert safari only after 3 PM – during the day temperatures reach +45 °C, sand burns even through shoes, photos look washed out, and camels hide from the heat. After 3 PM you get sunset, shows, camels, and that real desert experience.
For travel between emirates, take only white taxis – regular cream-colored Dubai taxis are not allowed to cross into Sharjah, Ajman or Ras Al Khaimah. Drivers may be fined or turned back on the highway.
A beach can be open, but swimming still prohibited – many beaches in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah are “view-only”: NO SWIMMING signs due to currents or private hotel zones. The water looks perfect, but swimming is not allowed.
Malls are freezing cold, even in summer – outside it’s +42 °C, but inside malls it can be +18 °C due to air conditioning. The temperature shock causes many tourists to catch colds. Locals carry a light jacket or scarf all year round.
