My love for Japan began the moment I arrived in Tokyo. The country amazed me with its harmony of ancient traditions, cutting-edge technology, breathtaking nature, and a culture unlike any other. Since then, Japan has become a part of my life, and I return there again and again. Today I help travelers discover the real Japan: I create personalized itineraries, give lectures, and prepare guests for their unforgettable journey. I would be delighted to open Japan for you too!

Halloween Horror Night (Seasonal)

If you’re visiting during the Halloween season, check out Halloween Horror Nights. This event, included in your park ticket, transforms the park into a terrifying maze of haunted houses and scary horror zones.

Cool Japan (Seasonal)

Depending on when you visit, the Cool Japan event brings popular anime characters like Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, and One Piece to life. These seasonal events feature themed rides, special shows, and exclusive food.

Food and Dining

Universal Studios Japan has many dining options. To avoid long queues at counter-service restaurants, especially during peak hours, try eating during off-peak times, such as before lunchtime or late in the afternoon. For a more relaxed experience, try Kinopio’s Cafe inside Super NES World or enjoy snacks like the famous Green Shell Calzone at the Yoshi Snack Stand.

Tips for a Smooth Visit

Plan Your Ticket and Express Pass in Advance

It is important to purchase park tickets and express passes in advance. These can be purchased up to two months before your visit, and it is highly recommended to do so to avoid disappointment. USJ tickets can be purchased from the official website or from third-party websites like Klook. If you want to maximize your time in the park, consider an express pass that allows you to skip long lines at many attractions.

Arrive Early

Aim to arrive at least an hour before the posted opening time to beat the crowd and get a head start on popular attractions like Super NES World, which may open earlier than advertised. If you arrive early enough, you can access Super NES World without needing timed admission tickets, which are usually required later in the day.

Download the USJ App

The Universal Studios Japan app is invaluable during your visit. It provides real-time information about attractions, restaurant menus, park maps, and waiting times. It’s also essential for checking the availability of timed entries for Super NES World, which can sell out quickly.

Consider Staying Nearby

If you plan to arrive early, consider staying at a hotel near the park to avoid wasting time on transportation. The Parkfront Hotel at Universal Studios Japan is just a two-minute walk from the park gate and offers newly renovated rooms.

How to Get There

Universal Studios Japan is located in Osaka and is easily accessible from various parts of the city. It is near JR Universal City Station, which connects to the Osaka Loop Line, making it easily accessible by public transport. If you are coming from Osaka Station, it takes about 15 minutes by train. You can also take the Osaka Metro to get there.

For tourists staying nearby, several hotels offer convenient accommodations:

  • Parkfront Hotel at Universal Studios Japan (closest to the park entrance)
  • Singulari Hotel & Sky Spa at Universal Studios Japan (luxurious stays and spas)
  • Art Hotel Osaka Bay Tower (affordable but a bit farther away)
