Alexander Beradze – First Immersion in Georgia in 2011 My journey to Georgia began completely by chance. After graduating from university, I decided to spend a few weeks in Tbilisi, exploring my Georgian roots on my mother's side. What was planned as a short trip turned into a lifelong love. Stepping on this land, I felt an inexplicable connection – as if I had returned home. After three months of traveling, I realized I wanted to tie my fate to this amazing country. For more than 13 years, I have been working as a Georgia expert, helping tourists from around the world create unique itineraries. I live between Tbilisi and Batumi, constantly exploring the hidden treasures of this country. Georgia is a special world where ancient traditions and modernity intertwine. Georgians are incredibly hospitable people for whom a guest is a messenger of God. Over these years, I have developed hundreds of individual routes for guests from around the world, written a book about Georgian winemaking traditions, created an educational project about Georgian culture, and consult international tourism companies.

Georgia is a honeymoon destination that feels like a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. This Caucasian wonder offers newlyweds a remarkable blend of ancient hospitality, breathtaking mountain landscapes, and a millennia-old wine culture, creating the perfect romantic atmosphere. Unlike crowded European spots, Georgia provides an enchanting experience of exploring something entirely new and authentic.

Here, every day can turn into an adventure: mornings spent admiring ancient Svanetian towers, afternoons wine tasting in family cellars in Kakheti, and evenings watching sunsets on Batumi Boulevard. The best part? Your romantic getaway is surprisingly affordable, with quality accommodations starting from just $15-20 per night and excellent dinners for under $10 per couple.

The Old Town, with its cobblestone streets, invites romantic strolls between cozy cafés and unique boutiques. Shardeni Street is the vibrant hub of Tbilisi’s nightlife, featuring excellent restaurants, intimate bars, and live music. The area buzzes with energy, particularly in the evening when music fills the air.

Honeymoon in Georgia

Cable Car and Narikala Fortress

The city’s cable car swiftly takes you to Narikala Fortress, offering stunning views of the entire city. The journey itself is an adventure:

  • Ticket cost: 5 lari one way (about $2)
  • Best time: Early morning to avoid waits of up to 30 minutes
  • Weekend note: Even longer lines on weekends

From the fortress, you can continue on foot to the Mother of Georgia Monument and visit the Botanical Garden. The panoramic view from here is breathtaking, providing a 360-degree glimpse of the city.

Abanotubani Sulfur Baths

The sulfur baths are an authentic experience not to be missed, despite their challenges. The strong smell can be off-putting, and the water is extremely hot (especially in summer—consider your circulation), but the mineral waters and traditional massage will leave you feeling completely rejuvenated.

  • Prices: 40-80 lari for a private room for an hour and a half
  • Massage: Additional 40 lari
  • Booking: Highly recommended in advance, especially on weekends
  • Wait time: About an hour without reservation
