If you are looking for a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of Siena, this botanical garden is the ideal spot. • When to Visit:
  The garden is open from 9:30 am to 7 pm. We recommend visiting in the spring or summer when the gardens are in full bloom. If you visit during the hot season, be aware that the garden is quite steep, so be prepared with comfortable shoes and plenty of water.

How to Get There

The Botanical Garden (Orto Botanico) is located at Via Pier Andrea Mattioli, 4, 53100 Siena (Via Pier Andrea Mattioli, Siena, Italy) and is easily accessible as it is inside the city walls. If you are staying in the city center, it is only a 10-minute walk. If you are coming from outside Siena, it is easily accessible by public transportation or cab. The nearest bus stop is Porta Tufi, from where the entrance is a short walk.
