Sights to See
The Royal Palace of Capodimonte: This magnificent palace, commissioned by King Charles of Bourbon in 1737, serves as the centerpiece of the park. Originally built to house the king’s extensive art collection and as a hunting lodge, it now operates as a museum, showcasing the Farnese Collection, the D’Avalois collection, and the royal apartments.
The Porcelain Factory: Situated near the church of San Gennaro, the historic porcelain factory was active from 1743 to 1759. It is now home to the “Giovanni Caselli” State Professional Institute for Industry and Handicraft, which specializes in ceramic production.
The Church of San Gennaro: Built in 1745, this small, centrally planned church is renowned for its simple yet elegant design. It features an oil painting of San Gennaro and is also notable for its historically significant furnishings.
