The City Hall building in Barcelona (Ajuntament)

The City Hall building in Barcelona (Ajuntament) is located in Plaza San Jaime Square in the very center of the Gothic Quarter. Since the 14^th century it has been the center of municipality life. The facade of the building is interesting but rather plain while the interior looks richer.

Especially noteworthy is the staircase and the Solo del Sent hall.  The building is open for free guided tours 10.00 a.m. – 1.00 p.m. on Sundays.
