Welcome dear travel fans! I've been traveling around the world for 20 years and most of my trips were to Asia. I think I have been crazy about Japan since I was a child and will be happy to share this passion with you.

Additional information

Sensoji is famous for its impressive entrance gate, called Kaminarimon or Thunder Gate, which is adorned with a large red lantern. After passing through the gate, visitors will walk down Nakamise-dori, a bustling street lined with souvenir shops and food stalls selling traditional Japanese snacks such as senbei (rice crackers) and ningyo-yaki (sweet cakes in the shape of dolls). At the end of Nakamise-dori is the main hall of Sensoji Temple.

The main hall, or hondo, is a large wooden structure with a tiled roof, and it is surrounded by beautiful gardens. The hall houses a statue of Kannon, which is said to have been discovered in the nearby Sumida River over 1,400 years ago. Visitors can also explore the five-story pagoda, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding area.

Asakusa, the district surrounding Sensoji Temple, is also a popular destination for shopping and dining. The area is known for its traditional atmosphere, and visitors can find many shops selling traditional Japanese goods such as kimonos and ceramics. There are also many restaurants offering local specialties such as tempura and soba noodles.

In addition to Sensoji Temple, visitors can also explore other attractions in Asakusa, such as the Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Center, which offers great views of the area from its observation deck, and the Hanayashiki Amusement Park, which is one of the oldest amusement parks in Japan.
