The Gran Cono Trail

The highlight of Vesuvio National Park is the Gran Cono trail, which leads to the crater of Mount Vesuvius. The midday sun can be intense, especially during the summer months. Also, keep in mind that the park closes at 19:00, so make sure you have enough time to explore all the main attractions.

Restrooms and Facilities

Restroom facilities within the park are limited. There are portable toilets available at the entry gate and near the summit, but they are quite basic. While there are no designated picnic areas, you can still purchase food and drinks near the base and summit.

Accessibility

The trails in the park can be challenging, as they have steep inclines and loose gravel. While pets are allowed, keep in mind that the hike may be difficult for them due to the terrain and heat.
