Ponte Sospeso is currently one of the world’s longest suspension footbridges. It was constructed in Tuscany in 1923 to help employees in a local pin factory get to work. The metal footbridge is 227 meters long, but only 80 centimeters wide. A special suspension design with the main load-bearing cables secured to the Popoglio village side was used to secure the footbridge
