The ideal time to explore Picco Ivigna is from June to September, when the weather is most favorable and the trails are in optimal condition.
What to Bring
Merano 2000 to Piccolo Ivigna
This route begins at the cable car station and follows path no. 18A past Malga Waidmann inn, continuing along trail no. 19A past the chapel of St. Oswald to Rifugio Kuhleiten. From there, you can follow trail no. 19 to the summit of Piccolo Ivigna (2,522 m).
Via Ferrata Heini Holzer
For a more thrilling adventure, you can take the Heini Holzer via ferrata. This route features well-laid-out, easy-to-grip granite, providing a moderate level of difficulty with spectacular views. Make sure you have the proper equipment, including a harness and helmet.
Scena to Picco Ivigna
A more challenging ascent starts from Scena, leading you up the exposed southwest ridge to the Grande Ivigna summit. This route requires surefootedness and alpine experience.
