   A disadvantage for foreign visitors is that most of the signs are in Italian. Guided tours may be available in different languages, so check with the ticket office for details.
3. Photography
   Signs may be posted prohibiting photography, but this restriction usually applies only to professional photographers. The scenery is spectacular, especially around the lake and greenhouses.
4. Access
   The gardens are relatively small and easy to navigate. However, please note that some parts of the gardens, especially around the small lake and greenhouses, may be inaccessible to visitors with limited mobility.

Access

The Lucca Botanical Gardens (Orto Botanico Comunale di Lucca) are located on Via del Giardino Botanico in Lucca. The garden is located within the historic city walls and is easily accessible on foot if you are exploring Lucca. If you are coming from outside Lucca, Lucca is well served by train and is about a 15-minute walk from the main train station (Stazione di Lucca).

For cars, parking is available outside the city walls. Once inside Lucca, follow the signs to Baluardo San Regolo, where you will find the entrance to the gardens.

   Learn about the legend of Lucida Mansi. A small lake in the gardens is said to be the place of demise of this historical figure, and the story adds a mystical atmosphere to the tranquil setting.
