The Duomo di San Gimignano is a medieval church located in the historic center of the town of San Gimignano, in Tuscany, Italy. It is also known as the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria Assunta. The church dates back to the 11th century, and was originally built in the Romanesque style. It underwent a major renovation in the 12th century, when it was transformed into a Gothic-style church.

The Duomo di San Gimignano is famous for its stunning frescoes, which cover the walls of the church’s nave and depict scenes from the Old and New Testaments, as well as the life of Christ and the lives of the saints. The frescoes were painted by several different artists, including Lippo Memmi, Bartolo di Fredi, and Benozzo Gozzoli, among others.

The church also features a number of other notable works of art, including a silver altar from the 14th century, a wooden crucifix from the 13th century, and a 15th-century statue of the Madonna and Child. The church’s bell tower, which dates back to the 13th century, is also a notable landmark of San Gimignano, and visitors can climb to the top of the tower for stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
