Upper Catacomb: Dating back to the 3rd century AD, this area is home to some of the earliest Christian paintings in southern Italy. Highlights include the Crypt of the Bishops and the underground basilica with three naves known as basilica adjecta.
Lower Catacomb: Centered around the Basilica of Sant’Agrippino, this area features a vast grid structure and an imposing lower vestibule with a large baptismal font.

The Tomb of San Gennaro

A significant highlight is the tomb of San Gennaro, which can be identified through historical texts. The cubiculum containing his tomb became a revered site, leading to the creation of larger spaces for bishop burials.
