Also known as Pisciadù Waterfalls, Cascate del Pisciadù is a charming cascade located near the village of Colfosco in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano – South Tyrol, Italy. This hidden gem sits at the base of the majestic Sella Group, surrounded by lush greenery and towering peaks, creating a tranquil oasis in the heart of the Dolomites.
The hiking trail to Cascate del Pisciadù is a gentle walk of just over 1 kilometer each way, suitable for visitors of all ages and fitness levels. Follow the trail signs for Cascate del Pisciadù / Cascades de Pisciadù, which will lead you along a wide gravel path and over a small wooden bridge. Allow approximately 1 hour each way for the hike, without any stops.
Upon reaching the end of the trail, you will be greeted with the mesmerizing sight of Cascate del Pisciadù. While the waterfall itself may not be large, its tranquil surroundings and stunning natural beauty make it a sight to behold. Take time to relax at the small grassy patch with picnic benches and shade, or venture a few minutes further up the trail for a closer look at the waterfall.
Colfosco and its surrounding areas offer a plethora of attractions and activities to complement your visit to Cascate del Pisciadù. From hiking and mountain biking to exploring quaint villages and enjoying panoramic views, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in this enchanting region of the Dolomites.
The trailhead for Cascate del Pisciadù is conveniently located near Hotel Luianta in Colfosco, along the SS243 road. Visitors can also start their hike from Corvara and walk along the river or take the Borest gondola from Corvara to Colfosco. Two parking options are available, including a free lot next to Hotel Luianta and a larger paid lot near Ristorante Matthias Keller.
