Welcome dear travel fans! I've been traveling around the world for 20 years and most of my trips were to Asia. I think I am crazy about Asia since I was a child and will be happy to share this passion with you...
The walls of old Jerusalem is one of the integral parts of the city. Since biblical times, Jerusalem was surrounded by a wall, and it is mentioned several times in the Bible. Even a part of the traditions of Judaism has connection with them.
The wall that can be seen today in Jerusalem was built in 1538 by Suleiman the Magnificent. The total length of the wall – 4.5 kilometers, the depth of the wall- up to 5 meters and height – from 5 to 15. Up until 1860 all the “Jerusalem” was located just inside the city walls.

There is a set of routes which offer a walk round city walls, but it is possible to climb on them as well. Walk on city walls gives an interesting view of the old city, of its surroundings. Personally we were pleased a lot to take such unusual walk.
To walk around the walls of Jerusalem, there are several routes – from Jaffa to the Lion’s Gate. It takes about a half an hour with the pass through New Gate, about 20 minutes, or after about 50 minutes – the Flower Gate. In the other direction, to the Zion Gate, the walk takes about 50 minutes.
