The remains of the Gallo-Roman town of Alesia are located in Alise-Sainte-Reine, in the Burgundy region of France. Alesia is famous for being the site of the decisive battle between the Roman army of Julius Caesar and the Gallic forces of Vercingetorix in 52 BC. The Gallic forces were defeated, and this battle marked the end of Gallic resistance to Roman rule.

The remains of Alesia include a large defensive wall that surrounded the town, as well as several Roman roads and buildings, such as the remains of a Roman temple and a Roman fort. The town also had a large amphitheater, which was used for gladiatorial contests and other public events.

Today, visitors can explore the ruins of Alesia and learn about the history of the site through exhibits and interactive displays at the nearby MuséoParc Alésia museum. The museum also features a reconstruction of the Roman fort and other aspects of Gallo-Roman life, giving visitors a glimpse into what life was like during this important period of history.
