Porte Guillaume is a historical gate located in Dijon, France. It was built in the 17th century by the French architect Jules Hardouin-Mansart on the orders of Louis XIV, and was part of a larger plan to modernize the city’s fortifications. The gate was named after William of Volpiano, a monk who founded the Abbey of Saint-Bénigne in Dijon.

Porte Guillaume was designed in the classical style, with a triangular pediment supported by Doric columns. The gate originally had three archways, but only two remain today. The gate served as an important entry point to the city and was used to welcome visiting dignitaries.

Today, Porte Guillaume is a popular tourist attraction and a symbol of Dijon’s rich history and architecture. It is located at the end of Rue de la Liberté, one of Dijon’s main shopping streets, and is within walking distance of many other historic sites and attractions.
